Fill a small bowl that is microwave safe with half of it with water. Cut a lemon in half and put the squeezed juice into a bowl. Add the rinds to the bowl. For 3 to 5 minutes, microwave it. Do not open the microwave for 5 more minutes. The steam will loosen any gunk and make it easier to clean your microwave.

Take out crayons from the walls. Tenants with toddlers might have more trouble. However, it is possible that your 20-something roommate or sister got a little too creative and got lost in the shuffle. Crayon is much easier than you think. Apply non-gel toothpaste to the crayon marks. Then, gently rub the crayons with a soft scrub brush or dry cloth. Use a damp sponge to clean up any toothpaste that remains.

Clean carpet stains. Light stains (not wine) can be cleaned with a mixture consisting of 2 tablespoons salt and 1/2 cup white vinegar. Before vacuuming, let the solution dry completely. To get darker stains out, you can add 2 tablespoons of borax to your mixture.
